Constitution of the Republic of Estonia and the Citizenship Act training (Narva)

NB! It is required to have an A2 level of Estonian language proficiency (for example, successful completion of an A2-level course, an A2 level exam certificate, or a test result corresponding to A2 level). The training is conducted in Estonian.

The training is intended for adults from different linguistic and cultural backgrounds, i.e. persons whose native language is not Estonian and who have been residing in Estonia for more than five years.

The aim of the training is to provide participants with the necessary knowledge to successfully pass the citizenship exam, which is a mandatory for applying for Estonian citizenship, in addition to passing the B1-level language exam. The training consists of 18 academic hours.

A certificate will beissued on the condition that at least 14 academic hours of the training have been completed and the practice exam has been successfully passed.

Community Theatre Project “What’s on the Mind Is on the Tongue”

Second meeting of the community theatre team
(15.02–15.04.2026; the exact meeting times will be agreed with participants registered for the project at the first meeting on 15.02)

Community theatre meetings take place in Jõhvi, Jaama St 10.

The recommended level of Estonian language proficiency is B1; however, learners starting from level A2+ as well as community members whose mother tongue is Estonian are also welcome. Participants are expected to have an interest in non-formal language learning, a willingness to challenge themselves in a new situation, and the courage to perform.

Participants with different levels of language proficiency support one another, encourage communication, and together create an environment in which both a sense of community and linguistic confidence and development can grow.

“What’s on the Mind Is on the Tongue” is a performative inquiry created in the form of community theatre, focusing on the experiences of people living in Estonia whose mother tongue is not Estonian. The project looks into their everyday lives, memories, and personal stories, and asks:
● how do they perceive Estonia, the Estonian language, and culture?
● how have language learning and the language environment influenced their identity and attitudes?
● is “being Estonian” something foreign to them, or something that could become their own?

Within the project, we bring together local community members who share their personal stories and experiences. From these stories, a performative whole is formed which, following the principles of community theatre, gives a voice to those whose perspectives often remain in the background in the usual public space. The performance does not offer ready-made answers, but instead creates space for listening, uncertainty, and polyphony.

One important source of inspiration is the Estonian language reader “Lõpuks leidsin sind” (“At Last I Found You”), published in 2023 by Estonian Language House teachers Marta Dolgoševi and Pille Maffucci, which approaches language learning as a personal and emotional process. The project is guided by the same principle: language is not a neutral tool, but a deeply personal experience that shapes one’s sense of self, belonging, and relationship with society.

Mokalaat on vestlusõhtute sari B2 ja kõrgemal tasemel keeleoskajatele. Kohtumistel arendame väikeses grupis ja sõbralikus õhkkonnas rääkimisoskust. Igal kohtumisel on teema, mis saadetakse Mokalaadale registreerunutele eelnevalt koos küsimustega. See annab võimaluse küsimused eelnevalt läbi mõelda, ette valmistada. Vestlused toimuvad väikestes gruppides mentori eestvedamisel. Soovi korral saavad osalejad harjutada lühiettekande tegemist.

Emotsioonide avastusretkede sari on suunatud B2 ja kõrgemal tasemel õppijatele. Zoomi kohtumistel õpime emotsioonide ja enesetunde sõnavara ning ei piirdu ainult rääkimisega – teemad läbime ka praktiliste harjutuste kaudu ja igal kohtumisel on uus alateema. Kasutame eestikeelset muusikat, lühitekste ja ülesandeid, mis aitavad keelt loomulikult kasutada. Paaristöös ja väikestes rühmades on võimalik uut sõnavara kohe proovida. Lisaks kogeda, kuidas aktiivne tegutsemine toetab enesekindlamat eneseväljendust ja paremat enesetunnet. Ootame sind, kui soovid arendada oma eesti keelt koos teiste õppijatega mõnusas ja toetavas õpikeskkonnas.

Päästeneljapäev B1+ (Narva)

Koostöös Päästeametiga toimuval kohtumiste sarja jooksul saavad selgeks Päästeameti töö erinevad aspektid. Külla tulevad päästjad, Häirekeskuse töötaja, demineerijad, tule- ja veeohutuse eest vastutavad inimesed. Igal kohtumisel saavad osalejad ohuolukordi ka praktiliselt läbi harjutada - näiteks seda, kuidas teatada õnnetusest häirekeskusesse, kuidas veenduda oma kodu tuleohutuses jne. Ürituste sarja viimasel kohtumisel minnakse komandosse külla.

Igal kohtumisel on oma teema. Päästeneljapäeva seitsmendal kohtumisel tuleb külla Punane Rist.
