New immigrants, permanent residents and people returning to Estonia are once again welcome to join specialised Estonian language courses.

We invite new immigrants, permanent residents and people returning to Estonia to join free specialised Estonian language courses that help develop Estonian language skills in a specific field and support the everyday use of Estonian

From 10 August at 10:00, descriptions of the specialised courses will be available in the self-service portal. Registration takes place through the advisors at the Estonian Language House by phone or email

There are 14 specialised courses to choose from, with classes starting in August and September. A total of 253 study places are available. Courses are held online or in person in Tallinn.

You can choose from courses focusing on grammar or spoken Estonian, expand your vocabulary, and improve your language skills through courses that support communication and introduce Estonian culture.

When registering for specialised courses, please note the following.

  • From 10 August, you can view the descriptions of the specialised courses in the self-service portal. To do this, select the service “Erikursus” (Specialised Course) and then choose the course that suits you from the list provided. To register, please contact the advisors at the Estonian Language House by phone or email. 
  • Registration remains open until all available places have been filled and closes one day before the course begins. 
  • By registering for a course, learners commit to attending from the beginning to the end of the course, participating actively in classes, and studying independently outside class. You may withdraw from a specialised course and cancel your registration yourself up to one day before the course starts.
