New ‘Eesti amps’ collaborative groups will launch in October

In October, new groups taking part in the ‘Eesti amps’ series of collaborative activities will launch across Estonia. The meetings of the groups will run until May 2027 and are designed to support the learning and use of the Estonian language in everyday life.

These activities are aimed at adults living in Estonia from a variety of linguistic and cultural backgrounds, including newly arrived immigrants, returnees, and Estonian citizens. Anyone wishing to improve their Estonian language skills and gain a better understanding of Estonian culture and society is invited to take part.

Over the course of eight months, each group will hold 16 regular meetings and go on two study trips. The programme consists of 60 academic hours of learning. During meetings, language learning is combined with practical and cultural topics, and great emphasis is placed on active communication and the use of Estonian in everyday situations.

Participants will be supported by volunteers who speak Estonian as their mother tongue or at least at level C1. Through joint activities, learners can develop their language skills, acquire new knowledge, and forge connections with Estonian speakers in a safe and friendly environment.

Study trips take participants to various locations across Estonia. This provides an opportunity to use Estonian in real-life situations and to learn about the country’s regions, culture, traditions, and different aspects of life.

The collaborative activities take place in the Kesklinn, Mustamäe, Lasnamäe, Haabersti, and Põhja-Tallinn districts of Tallinn, as well as in Tartu, Jõhvi, Narva, Sillamäe, and Lääne-Viru County.

Taking part in the programme helps to improve Estonian language skills, boost confidence in using the language, and broaden knowledge of Estonia and its culture. These meetings help to form new connections and experiences, which support the learning of Estonian even after the programme has ended.

You can sign up for the collaborative activities in the self-service of the Integration Foundation. The number of places is limited.

The collaborative activities are co-funded by the European Social Fund+ under sub-activity No. 3.4.4.4 ‘Provision of cultural, leisure, and collaborative activities to support Estonian language learning and practice’ of project No. 2021-2027.4.07.23-0006 ‘Activities supporting Estonian language learning and civic education’.
