As a Volunteer at the Integration Foundation

Become a volunteer!

Vabatahtlik

As a volunteer, you can support people who are practising Estonian, adapting to a new environment, or looking for more opportunities to connect with others.

Volunteers play an important role in the activities of the Integration Foundation, both in supporting programmes and events and in creating connections between people. They help make activities more accessible, understandable and encouraging for participants, while supporting communication, the exchange of experiences and the development of ties with the community.

A volunteer does not replace a teacher, counsellor or specialist, but complements their work through practical and human support. A volunteer can be a conversation partner, an encourager or a companion in activities where a person practises Estonian, seeks new contacts or wishes to become more familiar with local life and the community.

There are many ways to contribute as a volunteer – as a conversation partner, a community engagement supporter, an event supporter or an encourager of other volunteers. Each role has its own purpose, scope of activities and preparation to ensure that the contribution is clear, manageable and supported.

Participation in activities also provides volunteers themselves with new experiences, new connections and a better understanding of the stories of people from different backgrounds.

We will begin engaging volunteers in the autumn 2026, but you can already explore the different roles now. Take a look and see which opportunity might suit you.
