MODULE 1. Study Trip to Tallinn: Visiting the Riigikogu and Vabamu
Estonian Statehood, Democracy, Freedom and Civic Values
How does Estonia’s parliament work? How are decisions that affect life in the country made? What can Estonia’s history teach us about the value of freedom?
On Sunday, 29 November, the Citizen Academy civic education programme will organise a study trip to Tallinn. Participants will visit the Riigikogu, Estonia’s parliament, and the Vabamu Museum of Occupations and Freedom.
The programme includes a tour of the Riigikogu and a meeting with a Member of Parliament, with an opportunity to ask questions about parliamentary work. At Vabamu, participants will take a guided tour, explore interactive exhibitions and discuss what they have seen.

The trip is part of the Citizen Academy’s first module, “Being a Citizen”. Places are limited, and advance registration is required.
The programme is run by the Ida-Viru Youth Academy with the support of the Integration Foundation.
