All the native or fluent Estonian speakers are welcome to participate in the Language Friends programme to converse with language learners in Estonian as volunteer mentors.
An Estonian language mentor’s role is to serve as a supportive conversation partner for learners looking to practice and improve their Estonian skills. The conversations encourage learners to communicate in Estonian and the will to continue learning
Being a volunteer Estonian language mentor means that
- you will have conversations with a language learner in Estonian on topics of mutual interest;
- you are available for chats between February 14 and May 14;
- you will chat using a communication channel that suits both of you, e.g. phone, Zoom, Messenger, etc;
- you will agree on whether you will be chatting once a week or more often;
- throughout the period, you will receive support from the team of the program, both in the form of materials and joint online meetings.
Participation in the program is voluntary and intended for adults.
This year, the programme team will start bringing together mentors and learners on Valentine’s Day, 14 February. Language friends can communicate with each other until 14 May. More information: https://integratsioon.ee/en/we-invite-estonian-speakers-help-language-l….
