Guided by an Estonian-speaking guide, we will get acquainted with the Tallinn Church of the Holy Spirit, which is the smallest medieval church in Tallinn. The first written records mentioning a priest in the Church of the Holy Spirit date back to 1316. The Church of the Holy Spirit was a parish church, and from time to time the Tallinn City Council held its services there. That is why the sanctuary is sometimes called the chapel of the town hall. Estonian-language services have been held since 1531, being of great importance in the history of Estonian culture. We practice Estonian by asking questions to the guide and talking to groupmates, and we raise our cultural and historical awareness.
Health safety: In organising language courses, Estonian Language Houses are guided by the current requirements put in place to stop the spread of coronavirus. Only people who present the certificate to prove that they (1) are vaccinated, (2) have been recovered from COVID-19
The COVID certificates of all attendants will be checked at the entrance, please bring your identity document with you as well.
The certificate can be submitted in both paper and digital form (eg from smartphone).
